VICF: Day One Events and Schedule

Posted in Uncategorized by capitalcitycycles on May 26, 2011

Alright folks, here’s the breakdown of day one of the Victoria International Cycling Festival:

Friday May 27th:

Harbour Sprints:  I know that if you’re looking at this, you probably know what the sprints are all about.  We’ve been putting the sprints on for three years now, and they have skyrocketed in popularity.  Fixed gears, singlespeeds, and road bikes will battle it out in head to head drag races beside the inner harbour.

We are meeting at 7 and racing until 9, using a double elimination format.  The races will be taking place on Belleville St in front of our key sponsor the Hotel Grand Pacific.  Check the website here to pre-register as it makes our lives a lot easier!  We’re sponsoring these races, as well as a ton of other great companies, so there’s going to be lots of dope prizes!

Following the race we’re all going to be hanging out in front of the Hotel Grand Pacific to check out The Birth of  Big Air presented by Reels in Motion at 9pm.  The movie is fantastic, and is not to be missed.

We will be posting more events and details throughout the next three weeks, so check back.

You’re looking at the site of the 2011 Victoria International Cycling Festival Harbour Sprints.  The sprints will be a little different than our usual format in that it will be somewhat organized, and will be a round robin format, and will take place right in the inner harbour(so we have to be kinda good).  The races will take place on May 27th, June 3rd and June 10th.

We have a site in place now for the event at www.harboursprints.com which will be updated regularly with all the info you’ll need.

Check out the cycling festival site here.

It’s gonna be a good summer.
